Facebooking, blogging, and firing negative people

Monday, April 12th, 2010

The last few days of my six figure income challenge have involved Facebooking, including:

-Seeking out all of my personal Edge Marketing System referrals and adding them as friends.

-Touching base with potential prospects in FB

-Reviewing all of the “Suggestions” and inviting a lot of them to be friends.

I’ve also done some blogging and sent out an e-mail blast to my list.

The other epiphany I’ve had is to fire negative people. There’s not many in my life, but those few can be LOUD! So I realized I just have to not respond anymore to people that are consistently negative. I allowed just one or two some airtime in my life recently and realized it wasn’t getting me, or them, anywhere.

Was it Charlie “Tremendous” Jones that said that the five years from now you’ll be the exact same person you are now except for the books you read and the people you associate with? Something like that. So I’ve had a strong reminder lately that I need to commit to the positive, motivating ones and cut ties with those that aren’t!

Day 41: More e-mail, Blogging, Personal Training

Wednesday, March 31st, 2010

Day 41 of my six figure income from home challenge involved another blog post, another e-mail, and some personal training.

I’m working on duplication. There’s nothing like those personal calls to people I have sponsored to ask how they’re doing, give training, and ask them about their goals. My job is to help them achieve their goals. I’m trying to do better at that. As a matter of fact, I only need 4 or 5 players to achieve a six figure income and I’m good!

Day 40 “Keepin it real” with Seth Godin

Monday, March 29th, 2010

Today for my 30 minutes to a six figure income I did the following:

1. A little Facebooking. And yes, I got distracted and looked through an old friends photos for a while. Dang that Facebook. There’s a fine line between marketing online and wasting time! But, luckily, I tore myself out of memory lane and…

2. In my Facebooking came across a great, one minute clip of Seth Godin, so I created a simple Blog post out of it.

3. Sent the following letter to my list of prospects. You may wonder why I didn’t try to sell them anything. To get the answer to that, maybe you should check out the one minute video on the blog post ;-)

Subject line: Seth Godin’s controversial take on Social Media

Have you heard about Seth Godin? Ultra successful online marketer,
author of Tribes and Linchpin…

If you haven’t, you should. Get a feel for his controversial, but powerful
philosophies in this 1 minute clip (nothing to buy)

Just passing on some great Social Networking mojo!

Enjoy!

Day 36, 37, 38 and 39. Laziness, Coolness, and India.

Thursday, March 25th, 2010

Wow! Jim Rohn was right when he talked about “Easy Things.” They’re easy to do, and easy NOT to do! I went three days in a row without making a 30 day to a six figure income video or blog post. Shame on me, time to get back on track! Meantime, here’s what I have done in the last few days:

-Posted to my blog

-Created an RSS feed on http://edgemarketingblog.com for Edge Marketers to be able to automatically post their entries (great backlinks and free exposure!) If you are an edge marketer and would like to participate, simply send your blogs RSS feed to us and we’ll insert it for you!

-Done a couple of one on one training sessions with new team members

-Interviewed Alex McPhie and created a video of his training. He’s one of the most active social marketers in the Edge Marketing System, and shows us exactly how he got a front page Google listing for the term “edge marketing system.” Very cool training.

-Booked a trip to India. I know, it’s totally irrelevant to the 30 Minutes concept. But hey, it’s so cool, and it’s my first time going to India, that I just had to mention it. ;-)

-I realized I have been listening to the radio too much while I drive my car. Not good. What does Brian Tracy call the radio? “Bubble gum for the mind” I think he said. So I grabbed Jim Rohn’s 2004 Leadership Event (24 CD’s) and started listening to it while I drive. Much better!

Day 32: A little blogging + database management

Monday, March 15th, 2010

Day 32 of my six figure income from home strategy involves blog marketing, and database management.

For the blog post, I just did a simple one on a question I get asked a lot about e-mail marketing. You can see the post here.

Otherwise I just spent some time organizing my database, but unfortunately I can’t really make a video of that, as peoples private information shows up! So no video today, but check the blog post, and keep up your own 30 minutes a day challenge!

Day 29- Blog and personal branding training

Friday, March 12th, 2010

Day’s 29 was a great day, I rallied the team to a training session by George Fourie, a great marketer from Perth Australia. He really hit it out of the park, BUT I had a glitch when I saved the recording- it disappeared! Argh! (Pronounced Au-r-gg)

Luckily, George is doing a similar training next Monday for somebody and promised to send me a copy of that recording to post to the web. I’ll do that as soon as I get it.

Meantime, had about 65 people on the call, many in my group, so I hope they “got it” and start blogging and branding themselves! If you are new to that whole game, check out this video I created a while ago on personal branding, “10 things you can do right away to brand yourself (or something like that ;-)

Day 22! A little video blogging

Monday, March 1st, 2010

Today I responded to some e-mails, did a little Facebooking, but the main thing was a video post on my blog. Check it out, and see how easy it is to do some video blogging (without even creating a video!):
