Day 32 part deux.

by Dave

I hope I spelled that right. Deux. Two. Right? In French? Wow, High School was so long ago. Anyway, day on Day 32 I didn’t quite feel fulfilled after my blog post and database organizing session, so I sent a blast to my list as well. Here’s the text. I’m not in love with it, but it’s better to be in action than perfecting something in the laboratory!

Subject line: How big is your…

Prospect list? Seriously? Do you know? If not, I have a friendly
suggestion for you. Get more conscious about your list. How
big it is, how well you store it, how easily you can send e-mail
blasts and auto-response messages to it…

Nothing new here, right? But it’s amazing how many people
are serious about building a business, but not serious about
building a list. The challenge is THEY’RE EXACTLY THE SAME
THING!

All your future customers are going to come out of your list!

But if your list is small, or stagnant… your future business is
too!

Of course, I have a solution ;-)

Check this out:

Just skip down to the bullets.

There’s one there that I think will REALLY jump out at you…

Wishing you success!

..

You may notice that I put a few spaces, then dots at the bottom. The reason i do that is it moves the “unsubscribe” link lower, because some people will click on it by mistake, like it’s a “P.S.” link or something, and then they’re off your list forever!

Day 32: A little blogging + database management

by Dave

Day 32 of my six figure income from home strategy involves blog marketing, and database management.

For the blog post, I just did a simple one on a question I get asked a lot about e-mail marketing. You can see the post here.

Otherwise I just spent some time organizing my database, but unfortunately I can’t really make a video of that, as peoples private information shows up! So no video today, but check the blog post, and keep up your own 30 minutes a day challenge!

Day 31: Some “Slight Edge” Magic!

by Dave

Day 31 of the six figure income online challenge was another training day. I decided to train on “The Slight Edge,” a philosophy that I wish I made up myself, but I didn’t.

Instead, I completely stole the whole thing from Jeff Olson, who stole it from Jim Rohn, who stole it from Earl Shoaff, who stole it from generations of previous masters all the way back to whoever invented the wheel.

But without further ado, here is the training that, in my humble but correct opinion, could help more online marketers than anything else they are probably learning from some of the “guru’s” out there ;-) Enjoy!

Day 30: Blast ‘em!

by Dave

Day 30 of my six figure income online challenge involved the routine stuff, check e-mail, etc. but the main thing I did was send an e-mail to my list. E-mail marketing, with all it’s problems and issues, is still a rock solid method of marketing that you’d have to be silly to ignore! It works!

Here’s a copy of what I wrote. Go ahead and do your R&D (Rob and duplicate!)

[tourtakerfirstname],

I had a great conversation with an “old school” marketer
recently that admitted his organization was shrinking, so
he wanted to make changes, but just didn’t think the
internet was the answer.

Why not? I asked.

“Because it’s a relationship business!” Ouch! What’s the
assumption here? That the internet isn’t about relationships.
(If that’s the case, why is Facebook the second most
visited site in the world?)

As we talked about it more, I said, “What’s the first thing
you ask a new person to do when they sign up?”

“Make a list.”

“And after they’ve contacted everybody on their list, then what?”

“Uh…”

“Let me answer that for you, they quit, right?”

“Right”

“Don’t you realize that the only difference between what
I’m doing and what you’re doing is that me and my team
are building ever increasing lists? We never run out of
prospects!”

The conversation was longer than that, but you get the
idea.

So now I ask you the question, is YOUR list growing
every day? Every week? If not, you owe it to yourself to

And understand, your competitors are using these kinds
of tools, if you aren’t, you are at a serious competitive
disadvantage. The internet is the “elephant in the living
room,” and can’t be ignored.

Day 29- Blog and personal branding training

by Dave

Day’s 29 was a great day, I rallied the team to a training session by George Fourie, a great marketer from Perth Australia. He really hit it out of the park, BUT I had a glitch when I saved the recording- it disappeared! Argh! (Pronounced Au-r-gg)

Luckily, George is doing a similar training next Monday for somebody and promised to send me a copy of that recording to post to the web. I’ll do that as soon as I get it.

Meantime, had about 65 people on the call, many in my group, so I hope they “got it” and start blogging and branding themselves! If you are new to that whole game, check out this video I created a while ago on personal branding, “10 things you can do right away to brand yourself (or something like that ;-)

Day 28: Promoting Your Facebook Fanpage

by Dave

Day 28 of my six figure income from home challenge brought this excellent question from an Edge Marketing System user:

Dave, I have been following a lot of your trainings on switching from facebook personal to fan pages.  I have created two fan pages, but now I am trying to drive people to become a fan.  How do I do this?
It was easy the other way, just send out friend requests, but I have not found your training on how to drive people to my fan pages.   I am a member of the edge marketing system.  I recently had the pleasure of meeting Dan Putnam when he came to MN for an event with Jerry Zink. I work nights so getting to your webinars is difficult, so  do you have any advice for me?   Can I view some archives someplace for the webinars that cover driving traffic to my fan pages?
Thank you very much

Warmly,
Doug S, WI

Great question, here are my thoughts on it:

1. I would just have one, not two. Much easier to manage. Keeping up a blog, facebook, youtube etc. is enough work without adding anything else!

2. Don’t drive traffic there as aggressively as you drive traffic to your sales pages. So don’t sweat it too much. Natural growth is good growth. Notice in the signature of my e-mail I include links to my various websites, you should do the same thing.

3. Create a Fanbox on your blog, as I have done on: http://escapethematrix.net/blog where people can join your page from your blog.

4. As you upload stuff to your Fanpage, notify your friends.

That’s about it. Remember, it’s a supplement to your marketing and branding, but not a primary effort. So don’t sweat it too much, allow natural growth, and keep active on it.

Thanks,

Dave

Day 26: The “What will this do for me?” Question

by Dave

On Day 26 of my six figure yearly challenge, I just did some e-mailing, checked Google alerts, and grabbed a bunch of tweet ideas from other Edge Marketers (more on that tomorrow) But for today I want to address this question that I hear all the time:

“What will the Edge Marketing System do for me?”

It’s a strange question. First of all, the website, video and bullets explain it exactly. I don’t think anything is missing. 100 leads a week, auto-responder, database tools, training, friend connect tools, etcetera.

But I don’t think that’s what they’re asking. I think what they are really meaning is, “If I do nothing, what will happen!” And the answer to that is pretty simple: not much. I mean, you could always set the auto-responder to blast out follow up e-mails automatically to all your new leads (which is a really good idea anyway) but the results from e-mail marketing are pretty low.

We do hear plenty of stories of people having some success with that method, but it should really only be treated as a supplement to real marketing.

The question sounds to me kind of like a customer at the Home Depot sales counter, asking: How many houses can I build with these tools? The guy behind the counter will look at them like they’re crazy, yet in network marketing people ask us similarly idiotic questions and expect us to give intelligent answers.

So anyway, just a little philosophy for you today on day 26. Realize that the web, and all the tools available to you, including the Edge Marketing System, make your job SO much easier. But they don’t replace you. All you have to do is use the tools to spread your message. If you don’t, you won’t get much result. If you do, you can get results all over the world, and for years to come, from everything that you do!

To your success!

Day 25: Karl Marx VS. Adam Smith

by Dave

Day 25 of my six figure income online challenge is a training day. Learn why pin making hasn’t been a good profession since 1748, and the debate between Karl Marx and Adam Smith. Wow. From needles to historical figures. You saw it here first.

By the way, if you ever want to watch our live Edge Marketing System training sessions just go to:
